Contribute: Submit

Our article submission and review process goes like this:

1. You write a draft of your article—or at minimum, a detailed outline—and any examples we’d need.
2. You prepare your article or outline for submission. Please use our style guide to do so, and please let us know if your examples don’t work in all modern browsers (and if not, why).
3. You upload your .html, .doc, .rtf, or .txt file below or paste your plain-text copy into the box below, or both. The exception: if you’re including illustrations or example pages, please upload a .zip file with all of the relevant files included. Either way, please include a short bio (you’ll find bio guidelines in our style guide).
4. We review your article. Ideally within the week, but sometimes not.
5. We let you know if your article feels right for A List Apart. If it does, we may revise it or ask you to revise it.
6. You get back to us with revisions or extensions.
7. We let you know when your approved article will be published.
8. We publish your article and let you know that it’s live.
